Hi there! Call me Ismael.
I'm pursuing a Bachelor of Art studying Computer Science and Psychology with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction at Columbia University in the City of New York.
Call me Ismael, because I am on a voyage to connecting photography and design. My photography is rooted in exploring human identity, expression, and potential. Once I began to photograph, I found pieces of myself—my contemplations and consciousness—in my work.
I have always been interested in human interaction in both the physical and digital space: how telling, specific, and dynamic it can be and how it continually changes. As a result, I have become more sensitive and observant to understanding the need and feelings of others which serves as the foundation for my approach to human-centered design and design thinking. This is especially a quality that I use at Yacine, a startup founded by my siblings and I, to help inspire world artists to create.
Most recently, my projects include Olympian for my Strategic Design course taught by Gary Zamchick. Before that, I designed a poster for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games Open Call. However, my favorite project is Studio, which is an iOS app my team and I developed for our final project at The Flatiron School's iOS Developer Program. Download Studio in the Apple AppStore here!
If you'd like to make something great together, have any questions or concerns, or just want to say "hi," shoot me an email.
